We strongly believe in a responsible approach to social media. Our stance is clear: social media companies should not engage in the sale of user data or support personalized ads. We encourage them to take a proactive role in removing content that could be harmful to our society. Acknowledging the negative impact of hate speech and human trafficking, we are committed to swiftly eliminating such content from our platform. Last but not least, we want to emphasize our unwavering commitment: we will never resort to shadow banning based on race, gender, religion, sexuality, nationality, or occupation. Your safety, well-being, and fair treatment are our top priorities.

1. Hateful content

You should not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.

2. Platform manipulation and spam

You should not use Overtext’s services in a manner intended to artificially amplify or suppress information or engage in behavior that manipulates or disrupts people’s experience on Overtext.

3. Violence or terrorism

You should not threaten violence against an individual or a group of people. We also prohibit the glorification of violence. You should not threaten or promote terrorism or violent extremism.

4. Child sexual exploitation

We have zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation on Overtext.

5. Abuse/harassment, Suicide, or Self-harm

You should not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. This includes wishing or hoping that someone experiences physical harm. You should also not promote or encourage suicide or self-harm.

6. Sensitive media

You should not post media that is excessively gory. Media depicting sexual violence and/or assault is also not permitted.

7. Illegal or certain regulated goods or services

You should not use our service for any unlawful purpose or in furtherance of illegal activities. This includes selling, buying, or facilitating transactions in illegal goods or services, as well as certain types of regulated goods or services.

8. Private information

You should not post other people’s private information (such as home phone number and address) without their express authorization and permission. We also prohibit threatening to expose private information or incentivizing others to do so.

9. Non-consensual nudity

You should not post intimate photos or videos of someone that were produced or distributed without their consent.

10. Copyright and trademark violation

You should not violate others’ intellectual property rights, including copyright and trademark.
